Silver Seal® Tubular Components with X-STATIC® are flexible, non-adherent fabric dressing that are 1.06 cm thick and consist of 90% cotton or polyester, and 10% of a substrate with a metallic silver surface containing approximately 1.5% silver oxide. SilverSeal® Tubular Components: • Form a protective layer of an orthopedic cast below the cast padding and cast tape • Provide the skin with antimicrobial barrier against infection during skin excoriation • Promote patient hygiene and comfort by eliminating odor • Provide continuous, sustained release of silver cations for broad spectrum anti-microbial and anti-odor protection • Dimensional stability and superior tensile strength promoting effortless application • Have No flaking and shedding of elemental silver • Have No staining of patient or clinician Indications: Silver Seal® Tubular Components are used to form the first protective layer (base) of an orthopedic cast below the cast padding and cast tape, and to provide the skin with an antimicrobial barrier protecting the skin against infection during skin excoriation which can result in discomfort, odor and a host of other complications related to patent hygiene.
